Speaker: Jeff McKissack

Topic: Creating Safer Places Through Safer People

This program flips the typical paradigm regarding physical safety and security on its head, advocating for making 'people' safer to make 'places' safer, as people will always be that unknown variable.  Cameras, alarms, and access controls have their place, but do little to mitigate office dramas, employee/customer/client/patient retaliation, domestic violence spilling over into the workplace, or a myriad of other such risk and reputation management issues.  It comes back to educating 'people.'  But what does this look like for your property?  How can it be effectively implemented to engage tenant participation?  What is the paper trail that should accompany such initiatives for due diligence documentation?  These are the issues that will be addressed.

Jeff McKissack is a noted authority in the field of violence prevention and risk management.  He speaks to audiences nationwide at conferences, conventions, continuing education programs, and onsite training events -- and has been doing so for 35 years.  Jeff best sums up his work and message by saying, "my goal is to help you spot trouble 'before' trouble spots you," and in today's world of risk as well as reputation management, that is a perspective we all need to embrace.
