SHE Builds - Rebuilding Together Community Service Project
Saturday, October 17, 2020, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CDT
Category: Events

Women-led and women focused, She Builds, a national Rebuilding Together program that provides critical repairs for women-headed households and women-focused community spaces to empower women to maintain safe and healthy homes, make a difference in their communities and build a supportive community network. The program series includes home repair trainings to give women and the skills to maintain safe and healthy homes.

According to the National Women's Law Center, more than one in eight women and more than six in ten children live in poverty. More than half of those children live in families headed by women. Additionally, two-thirds of low-wage workers are women working for just $11.50 or less, most without a spouse’s income to rely on to support their family.

Join BOMA OKC as we take part in Rebuilding Together's SHEBuild on October 17 from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Volunteers will be repairing and remodeling three homes for women in the Capitol View area. The exact location where you will be on October 17 will be given to you closer to the date. The scope will be light in nature and easily accomplished by one or two persons, or allow for social distancing among a small group (numbering 8 or less). The scope is intended to be easily accomplished in a 2-4 hour shift.

Men are welcomed to join as volunteers. All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older.

Volunteers will need to complete their required wellness policy, that can be found HERE.
