Mike Carrier joined the Oklahoma City Convention and Visitors Bureau in July 2007 as its President. He is a native of Bristol, Tennessee and holds both a Bachelors degree in Accounting and a Masters in Education from East Tennessee State University.

He has been in the travel and tourism industry for over 35 years, working in meeting planning, hotel sales, facilities management and has served as President of Convention and Visitors Bureaus in Greenville and Columbia South Carolina and Knoxville Tennessee. Prior to his move to Oklahoma City, he served as the General Manager of the Shreveport Convention Center. 

Carrier has been actively involved in numerous industry associations including serving as President of the Carolinas Chapter of Meeting Professionals International and 3 years on the Board of Directors of the Destination Marketing Association International. In 2014 he was named the Greater Oklahoma City Metro Hotel Association Man of the Year, the 10th person to receive this honor in the 82 year history of the organization. He currently serves as a member of the Convention Center Subcommittee of the MAPS3 Program in Oklahoma City.
