 BOMA OKC Regular Members are invited to a behind the scenes tour of the Oklahoma History Center which is the home of the Oklahoma Historical Society.  The tour will be conducted by Chad Williams, Director of the OHS Research Division, along with other building staff to discuss the archiving of historical documents and the operation of the building to protect them.  The building is located north of NE 23rd Street, off N. Kelly Avenue. Parking is available in front of the building and we will gather in the lobby area before beginning the tour.  Following the tour, we will select a location for drinks, snacks and networking.

 The Oklahoma Historical Society and Oklahoma History Center
 The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve, and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people.   Since 1893 the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) has strived to protect and chronicle the history of our great state. The Oklahoma Historical Society maintains museums, research centers, historic homes, and military sites located throughout Oklahoma.
 The OHS was founded on May 27, 1893, by members of the Oklahoma Territory Press Association. In 1918 the OHS was relocated to the State Capitol, and in 1930 moved to the Wiley Post building. Over the years the OHS has developed numerous collections, programs, museums, and historic homes, and military sites statewide. In 2005 came the opening of the Oklahoma History Center, with world-class museum exhibits and a state-of-the-art Research Center.
 The Oklahoma History Center is an eighteen-acre, 215,000 square-foot learning center exploring Oklahoma’s unique history of geology, transportation, commerce, culture, aviation, heritage, and more.  The Oklahoma History Center is a Smithsonian Affiliate and is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
